Are You Ready? Watering Restrictions in Metro Vancouver Start May 15
On May 15, 2017, Metro Vancouver’s Stage 1 lawn sprinkling regulations contained in the GVWD Water Shortage Response Plan go into effect. The regulations apply to all residents and businesses in the region. Lawn sprinkling will be restricted to three periods a week, mornings only.
Did You Know? Lawns only require 2.5 cm (one inch) of water once a week to stay healthy.
Outdoor sprinkling of lawns using hose‐connected or automatic in‐ground sprinklers will be permitted as follows:
Residential Addresses:
- Even‐numbered addresses may sprinkle lawns Monday, Wednesday or Saturday mornings between 4 am and 9 am;
- Odd‐numbered addresses may sprinkle lawns Tuesday, Thursday or Sunday mornings between 4 am and 9 am.
Non‐Residential Addresses:
- Even‐numbered addresses may sprinkle lawns on Monday or Wednesday mornings between 1 am and 6 am, or Friday mornings between 4 am and 9 am;
- Odd‐numbered addresses may sprinkle lawns on Tuesday or Thursday mornings between 1 am and 6 am, or Friday mornings between 4 am and 9 am.
