I thought we’d start this blog with some of the funny things we encounter at University Sprinklers that add challenges to our day!
Getting to the Root of the Problem
Here’s a sprinkler head almost completely encased in roots from a nearby tree. We were called in to repair the sprinkler head, which we did!
You’d be amazed what we can get under. Driveways, patios, giant root systems… these are just part of the daily dose for us. We have specialized drillers and borers that can lay pipe in all sorts of situations.
There’s no scenario we can’t handle, and after thirty years in business, there are very few we haven’t already seen!
When Goin’ With The Flow Doesn’t Cut it Anymore
Here is a cast iron water service to a house that we replaced – the line is approximately 35 years old. Not only was the line extremely brittle, but the inside of the pipe was so calcified that water was travelling through the pipe at approximately 10% of its original capacity. The client was very happy once the work was completed and noted a significant improvement in the water flow in her house, not to mention very happy with the new irrigation system!
Watch Out for Realtors Bearing Sledgehammers
If you are selling your property, posting a For Rent sign in front of a property you manage, or erecting anything in your lawn or garden, check before you dig!
This sprinkler system was damaged by a well-meaning realtor who accidentally drove his or her For Sale sign straight into an underground sprinkler pipe, cracked the pipe, and caused flooding on the property. Oops! Cancel the open house!
Really? Really??
What were they thinking?? We know it’s not easy to get under existing walls, but a job worth doing is worth doing right.
Here’s an easy way to let your million dollar plus Vancouver property lose all its street appeal instantly!
We would never install an irrigation system in this manner. Simply unacceptable.
