Whalen Bishop from University Sprinklers recently completed BC’s largest rainwater harvesting and rainwater irrigation project, in partnership with Sonbuilt Custom Homes and Barr Plastics. Sonbuilt Custom Homes specializes in R-2000 construction, and includes rainwater harvesting as part of their commitment to the R-2000 program. Barr Plastics distributes belowground or aboveground plastic or fibreglass tanks, filters, diverters, pumps, strainers, and they provided the rainwater harvesting components used in this project.

We are so excited about this project, and this field, that we had to catch it on video!

What is Rainwater Harvesting?

Rainwater Harvesting is a way of saving the rainwater which would normally flow off a roof and down the drain, storing it, and using it as piped water to flush toilets, do laundry, wash your car, and water your lawn and garden, instead of using treated drinking (potable) water. You can learn more about Rainwater Harvesting and other water-wise irrigation solutions by University Sprinklers here.
